OTHER PITFALLS TO AVOID

Books for Success
There are many books, e-zines and pay for membership sites that tell you the secrets of marketing a site to make money on ads or how to run a successful business through ebay or what drop ship companies and products to use and sell. In a nutshell, getting stuck in narrowing your creativity to sell and how to sell, most of the information available give methods that may limit your creativity, but most importantly, if they had such successful methods, why would they want to creat more competition for themselves? It comes down to the old addage, those who can, do, and those who cannot, teach.

Business as a religion
Many multi-level marketing companies employ the web to sell products and motivate people. The amway effect is something else to stay leery of. Putting all one's beliefs in a company or person in a company or worshipping the almighty dollar, turning your life into something it wasn't to follow the person, company or dollar, usually will end in failure. Some people can sell well and get vulnerable people to sign up and work, and they make the money from what you do and the people under you do. The problem with this is you start seeming like an android and alienate friends, thinking that you can only talk about this or that company or product. The brainwashing works well for people above you, but in the end, people run out of suckers, meaning not being able to sucker friends in to secure your money can alienate you from people in your life that do not buy into it, or after they have failed pulling from the same pool of people you are. These companies profess success, but again, they are out to make money on the backs of others. Unless you are ethically okay with this somehow, find something that your hard work pays off, and doesn't destroy the relationships you have and how you are perceived.

Other things to watch out for:
Any company that only gives you a commission in a month you make a sale forces you to buy product to get your commission. This is a shady way of keeping their sales up, not helping you.

Any company that wants a term contract, for a year as an example, is watching out for their success, not yours. If it is so easy and success is so easily achieved, then why do they need a commitment for them to make the money?
